My Father: Richard Esbon Jenkins, born 31 December 1924 in Hunter Township, Edgar County, Illinois, died 27 June 1965 and buried in Naperville, Illinois. Married Sarah G. Claassen 8 June 1946. Four sons: me, Dale Lee Jenkins, born 15 Sept 1950, Thomas Craig Jenkins, born 4 Sept 1952 and Jay Wayne Jenkins, born 19 Aug 1955, all in Aurora, Illinois.
My grandfather: Esbon Marion Jenkins, born 12 August 1870 in Vincennes, Indiana. Died in January 1940 in Aurora, Illinois. Married Mary Alice Schrader. Their Children are Lester Jenkins, Ralph Jenkins, Agnes Jenkins, and my father.
My Great-grandfather was Samuel Jenkins, born about 1824/1825 in Pennsylvania, according to the 1870 and 1880 census. Married Martha Redfern in November 1850 in Vinton County, Ohio. 1880 census has the family in Vincennes, Indiana. As yet, I cannot determine a death date, or if the family moved from there after 1880. I am fairly certain that his mother was named Mary as she is listed with him on the 1850 census as 62 years old.
